King Vidor's "Metaphor" (1980)

Everybody seems to be more interested in "Truth and Illusion" but I like this one more. Although it seems to be in a much lesser subject, its rhythms and its tone goes deeper. Vidor re-editing a film of his in another film of his... It's something to see, really...

How did you find this! The Big Parade has haunted me for years. Grew up right down the street from the Wyeth "compound" and I know I'm late to the party on this one but I just found out this morning that Andrew Wyeth was obsessed with The Big Parade. Talk about two worlds colliding right? Please tell me how you got your hands on this film!

Hi Robert, a friend of mine sent me a DVD. I think, I think there's a website that has a link for download too... I'll have to check.

Strongly recommend Tag Gallagher's writings on Vidor, he often compares their arts.

Can't see your email so please write me an email if you're interested...
